From 25 Years of Army Construction to Your Home Inspection

I’ve spent most of my adult life in construction. For 25 years in the Army, I built, managed, and inspected structures where details mattered and shortcuts could create real problems. When I retired in 2020, I had to figure out what came next. I decided to continue serving the military community by being a part of the construction team building new homes for military families in Fort Hood. We built about 300 new homes on the two years that I was part of that team. I knew construction inside and out. How buildings go together, how they fail, and how easily buyers can miss expensive issues when they do not have the right person looking out for them.

That is what led me to home inspections. I kept hearing stories from buyers who felt like their inspector showed up, checked a box, collected payment, and disappeared. That bothered me because a home is usually the largest purchase a family will make. I’ve personally seen how one hidden issue, like a damaged sewer line, can turn into a $16,000 repair nobody expected. That is the kind of surprise I want to help my clients avoid.

So, in late 2023 I got licensed and launched L7 Home Inspections in Temple, Texas, to bring a more thorough, honest, and service-minded approach to home inspections across Central Texas. I serve buyers throughout Bell, Coryell, McLennan, Falls, Milam, Williamson, Burnet, and Lampasas Counties. Every inspection I perform includes thermal imaging with an infrared camera and moisture testing at no extra charge, because I believe those tools belong in a standard inspection, not hidden on an upsell menu. I take the time needed to inspect the property carefully, explain what I find clearly, and deliver a detailed report within 24 hours.
I work for you. That is not just a slogan, it is how I run every inspection.
